Re: the 1.5 Year Time-Gap...

Following the journal entry dated  18-24 June 2012,  the subsequent entries recorded in these  ''Lost Seasons''  segments are reflective of events which took place when ''routine'' journal entries were not being kept-up with.

The time-gap was  initially  the result of what I'd referred to as my period of  ''Radio Silence''... whereby I'd unintentionally fell behind on posting regular updates due to the circumstances mentioned from thence forward, namely, the result of having to shut down my computer system out of unavoidable necessity as part of my period of departure from the ''State of Hawaii'' to my subsequent ''transitional'' re-establishment in the ''Commonwealth of Virginia.''

This ''black-out'' period would regrettably extend into a much longer period of lost time, as I had allowed numerous other developments and circumstances to interfere with and hinder my commitment to update & maintain my personal records of activity (as will come to light as everything unfolds during this ''reclamation'' phase), which led me to adopt ''alternative'' methods of continuing to keep track of my experiences and exploits. Although the original intent for these alternate methods had simply been as a way of ''keeping current'' until the computer equipment I'd shipped ahead of my departure had arrived and had gotten ''established'' & ''connected,'' because of all of my misestimations and needless delays, I kept progressively getting bogged down further-and-deeper into backlog.

So what follows after the last dated entry of June 2012 are  first  the ''detailed'' record of what I'd originally planned on posting once I'd found myself in a situation where I could again focus time & attention to this activity -- then once those inclusions have been completed, all subsequent entries from thenceforth will be indicative of where various ''physical records'' (primarily in the form of calendar notations, as well as other types of loose ''jotted notes,'' ''sales/service receipts'' of various types, and ''dated photographs'') were resorted to in order to refresh cloudy memories and to compile the most accurate chain of events as they occurred.

In each instance, up until the point where the backlogged information has all been brought completely up-to-date, the day during which the actual typing of the new ''old'' entry is taking place during this ''catch-up'' phase will be plainly noted. Also, since a considerable amount of explanatory ''exposition'' is also necessary and unavoidable due to the loss of normal structure (as a result of not having maintained this journal with regular & timely updates), there will likewise occasionally be such disruptions in the normal flow of each dated entry for the purpose of supplying ''back story'' and additional insights (past or subsequent): such notations/inclusions will be indicated ((in this manner, i.e. enclosed within ''double parentheticals)).

August 31 - September 2, 2012 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

Friday evening (Aug. 31) began my second ''official'' day of work with the new company, receiving a ''refresher course'' with additional instructions & clarifications from the ''site supervisor,'' then I was left on my own; afterwards I was relieved for the day early the next morning (Sat., Sep. 1) only to come back 12 hours later.

Sunday (Sep. 2) was supposed to have been another 12-hour workday, but the person whom I'd been covering for over the weekend was also arriving on site, so we had to clear up which of us would be staying on for the night, and it was decided that I'd be returning home and that I'd be returning for another day-shift on Tuesday.

During the night Sunday, we received a crank call from the second worker I'd trained with, followed by a repetitious string of non-message phone calls. When I'd advised the scheduling manager of the unidentified calls coming from a cell phone, adding that I'd suspected that it was a number of one of the co-workers at our job site (whom I'd chosen not to identify), and asked if he could confirm if that same number matched the phone of the suspected co-worker, the manager called back saying that the number belonged to the other co-worker who had come back to work earlier than expected which resulted in my being sent home: the co-worker was supposedly trying to call me to ask if I could come in to cover the rest of his shift because his girlfriend was in the hospital. After playing the first message back for the manager to hear for himself, it was then discovered that the ''non-message'' string of calls had only started  after  the original ''crank'' message call had come from a  completely different  unidentified cell phone number. With this new information in hand, I speculated that the co-worker who had kept calling to have the rest of his shift covered had first called my second ''trainer'' (team supervisor) prior to calling me, and the ''trainer''-- who had already tried to ''crank'' me when he called to inform me about my dropped wallet --saw this as an opportunity to crank me ahead of the other (genuine) call. Determining this, I then did inform the manager that I suspected that it was this ''supervisor'' person who was responsible for the crank call, because the message he'd left was filled with information about things that only he and I had discussed before I left his presence after having been trained under him.

September 3 - 6, 2012 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

My co-worker at the job site Monday morning (Sep. 3) that he had been the one who had made the crank call the previous night, and I informed him that we were not impressed with such a disturbance and that it nearly resulted in ''official action'' (i.e. a call to police) being taken on our part in response.

Thursday (Sep. 6) my mother left town with some friends/relatives to spend the weekend in New Jersey, leaving the house to Gracie and myself. Later in the day I walked with Gracie to the ''Goodwill Jobs Campus'' so she could turn in her application for work-assistance orientation, since Martha had informed us that she would not be able to take her to the ''Crossroads Mall'' location this week because of her being away for the weekend.

After submitting the application and receiving additional helpful instructions & suggestions, we trekked over to their ''store'' where it had been my intention to purchase several additional sets of pants -- all three of those which I'd bought having been found in the ''Women's/Girls''' section. Along with the pants purchases I'd also found a heavy winter coat that I liked (another supposedly ''women's'' design) as well as a few nice belts I decided to add to my wardrobe.

After clothes shopping, I rode her out to the post office and allowed her to retrieve our package from ''Amazon,'' then we went to the ''Dollar Tree'' store on ''Ferncliff Avenue'' to buy a bunch of snacks to have on reserve for the work-time munchies (although the original intent was to do a quick stopover at ''Hardee's'' for a couple of orders of onion rings to bring back to the house, opting instead for the econo-general store when I'd discovered it was in the area right across from the restaurant.

September 7 - 9, 2012 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

Discovered a couple of disturbing things Friday (Sep. 7) -- the first was learning that one of the DVDs that had arrived as part of my ''Amazon'' order  (''Todd McFarlane's Spawn 2'')  ) was not the animated ''sequel'' I'd been hearing about, but was the free-standing ''2nd Season'' of the original program which had already been part of my single-packaged ''collected set'' edition, which made it was an unnecessary purchase (thankfully setting me back only $5); secondly, learning that even though I'd set up the salvaged hard drive it still could allow her access to my primary drive... but trying to rectify the situation by unplugging the main drive would result in the secondary drive unit not booting at all, and so the only thing I could figure out on how to ''fix'' the problem would be to completely ''scrub'' the drive again and reinstall the operating system afresh, with the intent of keeping both drives separate by physically detaching the cables from whichever device was not in use at the time, ensuring that both drives were never again connected to the motherboard at the same time.

~ ''catch-up'' entry date: (December 14, 2013 - Saturday)

On Saturday (Sep. 8) I insisted that Gracie get in contact with her insurance providers regarding her dental and birth control arrangements (over the latter of which we'd gotten into an emotionally-charged point/counterpoint because she kept trying to shutdown any discussions on the usage of IUDs by constantly insisting upon dwelling on ''worst-case scenarios'' regarding some of their more common but still very rare potential side-effects.

On Sunday (Sep. 9), due yet again to the aggravating disappointment regarding how there's this ongoing trend of ''half-assing'' the construction of their containment cases, I made an online order for some  DVD holding ''snapcases''  both as a response to what I was again just sent and ''expected'' to use without complaint and as something to have  on reserve  for the next time somebody sends DVDs in those flimsy-ass ''open-back'' non-protective cases.

September 17 - 20, 2012 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

Made back-to-back visits to ''Goodwill'' stores on Melrose Ave. and the one in Salem City across from ''Lakeside'' ((on the exact same main stretch of roadway)) on Tuesday (Sep. 18) to shop mostly for cooler-weather clothing. While at the Salem store, Gracie alerted me to a business chair selling for $3.95 that I'd intended to come back for the following day, and when I did go back for it (Wed., Sep 19) it was still there, but it had since been accompanied with an additional chair of a similar type, the only difference being that the second one had been designed with ''arm rests'' -- so after feeling both of them out, and getting confirmation that they were both selling for the same price (the new chair had been placed out in the showroom without any price tag attached), I decided to purchase the latter.

Thursday (Sep. 20) I rode Gracie to keep her dentist appointment, after my mother and I had kept pressuring her to utilize her being included on her mother's health-insurance policy before she reached her expiration deadline.

September 24 - 27, 2012 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

Tuesday (Sep. 25) brought us back out to Gracie's next dentist visit to get the first of two ''wisdom teeth'' removed: on this particular outing I'd gotten us off course when I'd taken an early turn-off onto Peter's Creek Road rather than Electric Road.

A day or two later ((date unrecalled)), after seeing the cable bill and factoring my portion for the phone and Internet, I'd made the determination to drop the cable company's services altogether and search into other alternatives, ultimately settling on  ''Verizon''  (who was the local telephone service monopoly) for both my ''long distance'' service and as my DSL Internet provider.

September 28- 30, 2012 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

The phone/Internet installation took place early Friday morning (Sep. 28), but it was problematic as it appeared that my modem which I'd brought with me from Hawaii was now not allowing network connection, so the serviceman switched it out with a combi-modem/router supposedly with optional ''wired/wireless'' capability. After he'd left, I learned that the back-up hard drive was not receiving an Internet connection -- it would not be until Sunday (Sep. 30) that I figured out what needed to be tweaked in order to establish the connection, since I'd had no problems getting online via  Mandriva Linux ''LiveCD.''  I'd also invited Gracie to ride out with me to return to the cable company their modem on Saturday (Sep. 29) -- and rather than doing a quick ''in-&-out'' so we could get a couple of slices of dessert pies, we were being hit relentlessly with the ''hard sell'' from the representative who was adjusting our billing information.

October 1 - 4, 2012 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

Because of all the rain on Monday (Oct. 1), I'd enlisted the aid of my mother to drive us back out to the dentist to get Gracie's 2nd tooth removed.

Gracie then went to her ''job placement assistance'' appointment on Tuesday (Oct. 2) as I accompanied my mother on her errands so that I could again not have to go out in the rain.

I helped update Gracie's online applications on Wednesday (Oct. 3) after much struggle with these irrationally set-up systems. A headache had both resulted in my remaining indoors so that I could assist her in reviewing & correcting these pains-in-the-ass online application processes but had also kept us from spending more time on the town.

Rode out to the post office on Thursday (Oct. 4) and picked up the money that Gracie's grandmother had sent her ($50 ''cash''), then accompanied her as she went ''impulse shopping'' which was originally supposed to be for hair texturizer (her call) and birth control pills (my call), but the pills required a prescription. I decided to purchase most of the items she had placed in her basket in exchange for $15 cash that I could have on-hand for whatever purpose might be needed... that added to the $13 I'd ''bought'' from my mother after writing her a check for the water bill a day earlier.

October 5 - 8, 2012 (Friday-Monday)
''Holiday Weekend in Review''

Spent the weekend trying to install  ''Mandriva Linux''  on Gracie's laptop, since the secondary hard drive in the HP tower had finally decided to give-out on us... but the final stage of trying to install a partition onto her hard drive Monday (Oct. 8) kept coming back as ''undoable,'' according to the installer, pretending not to have enough disk space to install the distro. ((It had been sometime around late September or early October when Gracie's laptop had refused to connect to the Internet via ''normal'' start-up, and although she could get online via the ''safe mode with networking'' option it would deactivate all system sounds, so the repeated attempts to install ''Linux'' on my salvaged hard drive and then onto the laptop were all my attempts to help her regain Internet access.))

October 9 -11, 2012 (Tuesday-Thursday)
''post-holiday Week in Review''

I learned on Tuesday (Oct. 9) that while the salvaged hard disk in my PC tower is indeed on the verge of failure, most of its problematic behavior could be attributed to the fact that the  ''Windows XP''  system I kept trying to install upon it was the greater problem, as a reinstall of  ''Mandriva Linux''  proved for the most part.

On Thursday (Oct. 11), before preparing for work I took Gracie riding along with me into Salem so I could visit the ''Farmer's Market'' in their downtown area, then to make a follow-up visit to ''She's International'' -- a store which offers  ''Carol's Daughter''  ethnic hair care products. We then finished off the day with a stop into ''Long John Silver's,'' which would be her very first time eating at one of their restaurants.

October 12 - 14, 2012 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

This weekend resulted in a new round of computer problems, starting off earlier in the week-- and continuing through the weekend --with the sudden inexplicable ''defective'' playback of several of my DVD movies, which I'd first attributed to the hardware and/or software of Gracie's laptop, which I'd been taking to work with me, only to discover that the problems persisted with the programs on my own desktop tower system: it highly pissed me off that one of the so-affected DVDs this decided to happen with was one of my absolute favorite movies -- ''Michael Clayton.''

The biggest issue however revolved around my trying to install a  ''Linux''  partition on Gracie's laptop (beginning Friday, Oct. 12), and by my not knowing entirely what I was doing (because the system kept reporting back that there was not enough ''available space'' upon which to install the partition) I kept failing in the process to the point of giving up. I came back to the project Sunday morning (Oct. 14) thinking I'd finally figured out how to free-up enough space for the installation to work, only to learn later when I'd returned to the house after work that the installation had effectively cleared away a portion of the hard drive that allowed for  ''Windows''  operating system to boot into  ''Safe Mode'' -- so while I'd finally managed to get Gracie's computer set up to grant her full Internet-surfing functionality, there is now no way to access any of the files made in & housed on the main ''Windows'' OS in order to ''upload'' or ''email'' any of them, which would've still been possible had the system had ''Windows'' safe-boot capability.

October 15 - 18, 2012 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

Tried to double-up on Tuesday (Oct. 16) by dropping my motorcycle off at the local mechanics (after informing them the previous day that I wanted to bring her in for her long-overdue maintenance work) and hoping to use my mother's car to get tested for my ''regular'' (''4-wheel'') driver's license at our local DMV as I asked my mother (with Gracie in the car) to follow me to the shop/dealership: the second part of that idea fell flat, because we'd gone to the DMV only to be informed that I was first required to have a ''learner's permit'' before I could even take the regular driving test, and to even receive the ''permit'' I would need to submit all sorts of bullshark ''identification verification'' documentation.

After the DMV visit resulted in disappointment, rather than driving us all the way back out there just to get that preliminary process junk taken care of, I opted instead to accompany my mother to visit my grandmother at her nursing home, and Gracie agreed to tag along.

The follow-up call from the mechanics said that there was some extra work that needed to be done on the cycle before all work was complete and that there were some other issues (sounds) that they could not pinpoint and wanted to investigate further, so they asked to keep the machine overnight in order to address those concerns. Unfortunately, on Wednesday (Oct. 17) they had stated that they had had a ''computer system malfunction'' which prevented them from updating me on the status of the repair work that was done and still needed, so they kept the cycle for yet another day: the next day however (Thu., Oct. 18) they were still not able to give me a status update because they were still trying to dig out from the mess their computer system crash had left them under, so yet again I was left without any transportation for a third straight day.

October 19 - 21, 2012 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

After several follow-up calls over the course of the weekend, the motorcycle mechanics finally contacted me Saturday evening (Oct. 20) telling me that my motorcycle was far worse off than I was willing to allow myself to envision. Expecting to be shelling out somewhere in the neighborhood of $400+ for whatever needed to be done, the mechanics instead informed me that I'd had gears & bearings that had been completely stripped and needed to be replaced, other valves, rings, and hoses that needed to be replaced, and declared that I'd needed both tires replaced because they were both supposedly ''dry rotting'' (even though the rear tire had been relatively recently replaced. Even after begging-off the ''tire replacement'' recommendation, they informed me that I was still looking at about-- or at least --$1,000 worth of service work!

October 22 - 25, 2012 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

I decided to tag along when my mother dropped Gracie off at ''Macy's'' ((exact date not recalled)) for her job interview with them (even though it was just part of their ''seasonal hiring'' thing); when we picked her up after we'd done a little bit of grocery shopping in the interim, she relayed to us that the interviewer had scheduled her to come in for a training seminar.

October 26 - 28, 2012 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

Just mere seconds right before leaving for work Saturday evening (Oct. 27) there was a telephone call identifying itself as a cell phone number from an out-of-state area code that I suspected was Gracie's estranged father: my suspicions were even further heightened when she rushed out of kitchen into to bedroom and kept trying to interfere with my attempts to ''backtrack'' the phone number online while at the same time ducking out on answering my question about if she knew about or was aware of anybody calling from that area code. As I was booting her laptop with the intent of researching the phone number online, she finally acknowledged that she had been calling her father in my absence while I was at work. This upset me for a number of reasons: (1) because I'd instructed her that now that we were operating under a  second  new number I (again) wanted her to honor the arrangement by not using the phone for ''personal'' (non-business related) calls until I was comfortable enough to where I felt I could lift the restriction, because (2) I'd put the restriction in place so that she could learn to limit her contact with her grandmother so she could grow accustomed to the idea of being apart from what was often a source of misery for her and eventually wean herself off of her grandmother's teat and become her own person, also (3) so that she could learn something more about ''sacrificing'' some things, (4) to see if she could be strong enough to follow & honor an ''inconvenient'' or ''uncomfortable'' instruction, even though she  still  had an ''out'' (which I'd encouraged), which was to use my mother's cell phone but being required to honor the ''time limit'' restriction placed upon her by my mother which she would be required to abide by, and (5) to see if she could prove herself ''reliable'' & ''trustworthy'' -- which was perhaps the most important aspect of it all, given the fact that Gracie likes to play ''slick'' and ''manipulative'' with the people she's living up under in her attempts to get her own wasteful and/or selfish way all of the time, but also given the fact that she has the tendency to habitually to habitually keep exposing her ''Achilles Heel'' because she's just so ''attention-starved'' and frequently seeks attention in ways and from people that have the potential to disrupt our harmony both as a couple and as a family (...this last part was of especial concern to me in that she's yet again supplied our contact information to her father whom she'd not seen since age 11 and whom she had informed me has lived his entire life-- even to this very day --as a leech who mooches & slimes his way into other people's good graces).

I'd informed her that it was enough that I'd already discovered that she left evidence on the phone that she'd been calling her grandmother on this phone, even though I'd said nothing to her about it (I'd also learned even before then about the ''hours-long'' conversations she'd be having on the phone when I was not there), but the inclusion of her father on this number was more than I was willing to remain silent over.

So just as I was in the process of leaving for work I'd expressed to her that she'd essentially betrayed my trust and that she was no longer considered to be ''trustworthy'' in my eyes... but what I did not tell her at the time was that because of all of these sneaky ways, compounded with her wastefulness and severe lack of motivation & resistance to accept/retain instruction, I was seriously contemplating returning her to New Jersey and calling this whole bruised relationship off.

October 29 - November 1, 2012 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

Because of the seriousness of the Atlantic storm (''Sandy'') and seeing how it was really kicking the okole of the northeastern coastlines, Gracie and I called our respective ohana who are residents of New Jersey Monday night (Oct. 29) to make sure everyone was prepared for whatever the storm was going to bring their way.

We tried to get through to family the next day (Tue., Oct. 30) without success: we were unable to get anything other than an automatic (no ringtone) ''unavailable'' recorded message on ''land line'' numbers or ''redirections'' to ''voicemail'' on cell phone numbers.

The following day (Wed., Oct. 31), just out of curiosity, based largely on the fact that getting ringtones were still possible whenever a ''cell'' number was being called, I tried to contact my Aunt Nell and managed to get an answer from her: she assured me that everyone I'd been trying to get in contact with there was alright, but also confirmed that power was out all over the place and was thus concerned for her cellphone's battery power, so we did not converse for long.

I then tried to call one of my Dad's numbers again, but still received no answer on his land line phone, but there was an answer on his wife's cell phone, about which she said she had just gotten service restored. She also told me that Dad was out trying to look for a generator (which he'd stubbornly refused to invest in before the storm) because their basement had flooded -- other than that, she assured me that everything was alright with them.

Finally went to retrieve my motorcycle Thursday morning (Nov. 1), after having had it sit in the shop all this time while the mechanics waited for parts to come in so they could complete work on it. The job had actually been completed on Tuesday, but they asked to hold it over until Thursday so that it could be taken out for a test-run.

But after I'd come face-to-face with the final repair bill (just shy of $1,000), and being told that they were still concerned for the engine based on the sounds it was producing (which were to me all ''normal'' sounds which I'd been all-too-familiar with ever since I could remember), I'd debated whether or not I'd be all that interested in investing any more time/money into the machine. During this period of indecision, and almost on my way to ''pay my ransom,'' I'd decided to browse the showroom floor and peruse over the display of ''newer'' models of my machine as I always do, just to ''drool'' over them in an ongoing ''One-Of-These-Days'' fantasy of  ''eventually''  making the determined decision to ''upgrade.'' Upon spotting one with a ''backrest'' feature (which I'd always wanted to see on later models ever since they'd come ''standard'' on the model line of the one I'd originally purchased), I'd made the assumption that it was the ''latest'' model and that the manufacturer was returning to offering backrests as a standard feature once again, but the sales rep had informed me that what I was actually looking at was a customized ''2008'' model which had been traded in with just under 1,100 miles on it (although it would later be revealed according to the ''title transfer'' information that the woman who was the previous owner had clocked-in just under 900 miles before trading it in). When I ''half-curiously'' asked what they were expecting to sell it for, my  ''half-''  curiosity transformed into full-blown  ''interest and intent.''

We began hammering out a deal as my mother was still sitting in the car waiting to see if I'd be riding back with her (i.e. more repair work to be done) or riding back on my own (repair work all pau); when she came into the showroom and saw that I was in the process of making a purchase, she waited around for about ten minutes, but seeing that the process was going to be taking longer than I'd expected she had to run to take care of other business.

Eventually we got to a place where I was satisfied with the end deal, even though, because of the concerns about the engine noise, they were only willing to offer me a ''parts-value'' trade-in rather than an actual trade-in, and I was still obligated to pay for the ''service work'' that had been done upon it -- because of these ''added expense'' factors, I'd asked if they would allow me to throw in a couple of new helmets (one full-face, one three-quarter), but instead they offered me a $150 ''parts credit'' which would not be enough to get a pair of helmets, but it did allow me a somewhat small 3/4 helmet with face shield and with the remainder selected a set of heavy riding gloves which I'd be able to have on-hand (no pun intended) when the winter months arrived.

There were a number of snags in finalizing the deal however, mainly because of the fact that everything was being switched over from Hawaii to Virginia.

The biggest concern however was when my credit card charge was refused. I'd called from the dealership office to inform the card company of the intended charge and to inquire why my charging limit had ''decreased'' from $7,500: the card rep had informed me that the card I'd planned on using had never had a $7,500 credit limit and that it had actually remained stagnant at the same limit since I'd first qualified for it (which had to have meant that I'd confused it with one of several of the other cards I'd once possessed which I'd allowed to lapse into inactivity), but while speaking with her over the phone at the dealership she automatically increased my credit limit enough to complete the transaction... in addition to this, she informed me that I'd had over $100 in ''cash back rewards'' that had accumulated which she said I could apply to the purchase I was making, which I did.

November 4 - 7, 2012 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

Rode back out to pick-up my ''new-used'' motorcycle's duplicate key Monday (Nov. 4) after I'd explained to the dealership that they had included the incorrect duplicate with the machine I'd ridden out of their showroom -- it had turned out that the scooter I'd taken an interest in had been traded in as part of a ''pair'' (one black, the other white) and the extra keys for both units had been inadvertently switched. I'd also informed them that I did manage to locate the ''tool kit'' which I'd originally thought was missing until I'd uncovered the ''secret compartment'' where it had been housed.

So much to say about the ''ride'' of the machine, some things very ''positive,'' others very ''negative'' -- which I suppose I'll have to elaborate on at some point.

I had also been scheduled to work Monday, but at the last minute the site supervisor asked to take the day off, come back in on Tuesday (Nov. 5), then take off again on Wednesday (Nov. 6). Originally, my time had been adjusted so that I could attend ''certification'' classes that they had me scheduled for on Thursday and Friday, which would've given me ''Tuesday and Wednesday'' as back-to-back ''off-days,'' but one of the other employees had informed the office that he would be leaving the company and they wanted him to finish out Tuesday as his last day of work.

With the time I'd had Thursday (Nov. 7) I'd accompanied Gracie on a ''bus run'' which was to get her familiar with the city's bus operation for when she's finally able to start working... so we rode out to ''Valley View Mall'' and spent some time browsing around and getting a bite to eat, but she almost pushed me to the point to where I felt like leaving her there and walking back to the house alone (despite the fact that it was bitterly cold for how ill-prepared I was in my dress), because I could not get her to cooperate with me by accompanying me down a long-ass set of corridors to the restroom area when she just expected me to make two very long walking trips (''to'' and ''back'') as she just stood around in a general waiting area.

November 9 - 11, 2012 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

Completed & ''graduated'' my two-day certification class Friday evening (Nov. 9), after which I had to almost immediately go to work: but this was even further complicated when during the ''lunch break'' of my 2nd day of instruction my manager informed me of yet another scheduling change -- this time a  second  co-worker at our same jobsite had announced that he'd be leaving, which had left the scheduling manager in yet another quandry, so I was informed that the remaining three workers at our site would have to be pulling ''full-week'' runs at work, each of us pulling 8-hour workshifts seven days straight.

November 15, 2012 (Thursday)

Gave Gracie my extra key to the back door (after I had discovered that it actually turned out to also match ''my side'' of the garage doors, which meant that I was not required to carry two separate ''duplicate'' keys on the same keyring) before heading out to work -- in keeping with my mother's agreement that she could receive a key when she got an outside job. My mother had agreed with my recommendation that she be given the key to the ''back door'' because of Gracie's inability & impatience with the other door locks, and because the same key was used for both locks on that door.

I was informed upon arriving at work that we would be working a repeat of the previous week's schedule; I suppose I should count my blessings, considering how very little we get paid for this particular job, the extra hours and ''overtime'' may help pull me out of my newly-minted ''debt'' situation as a result of switching-out my motorcycle.

''Week in Review''

Asked my mother to ride us back out to the ''DMV'' office Tuesday (Nov. 20) so I could transfer my motorcycle license over to this state (or ''Commonwealth,'' as they pretentiously like to call it), which I'd originally planned on doing the previous morning but was dissuaded as a result of more of my inexplicable gut-&-head disturbances. I was totally miffed that my ''Hawaii'' driver's license was ''voided'' out by these clowns who seemed to want everyone's stinking personal life-story before granting them any type of official identification or operator's licenses: according to the clerk, no one is permitted to possess official ID/DL from two different states at the same time, which I have a nasty suspicion is just total bunkum. Because of all of the personal ''wutdafukyooneeditfore'' info these jafos wanted, Gracie was unable to acquire her local ID even after I'd explained to those morons that we shared the *SAME* address but mail and/or official documents currently come only in  my  name at the Post Office either at the ''Box Number'' or via the ''workaround'' alternative address they provided with my P.O. Box address.

Late Thursday morning (Nov. 22) my mother asked if I would like to meet some of the family in Rocky Mount (even though she had already informed everyone that I'd probably be a ''no-show'' because of having to work later that night... what is that thing they say about ''assumptions''?). So just before we were ready to head-out around 14:00 (EST) or so, my sister from Kansas City walked through the door with baggage in-hand. So we all rode together out to some small, cramped, out-of-the-way so-called ''country club'' where the gathering was to take place. Of course, I respectfully refused to participate in the (pretentious) ''saying of grace'' ceremony accompanied with the delivering of personal testimonials of what we individually were all supposedly so ''thankful'' for (...yes, it was that ''last-Thursday-in-November'' so-called ''holiday''...).

There actually was one highlight during the gathering however, and that was when I was finally able to meet face-to-face with  Darlene,  our passionate ''family historian,'' whom I was impressed by how so-much ''younger-looking'' and more seemingly ''sophisticated'' than I had imagined she'd be: she had given me a couple of ''books'' (more like office-bound instruction documents in style) along with some other ''family information'' which had everyone gathering around until we had to explain to everyone that my visit was ''time-sensitive'' and I needed to get ready to go to my job.

November 23 - 25, 2012 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

An old proverb came to mind following the events of this weekend, and reiterated to me that  ''a snake is still a snake''  and they do not change their character or their basic nature. I should have picked-up on it at that little ''ohana gathering'' we all had in the kitchen Friday night (Nov. 23) before I left for work, where my sister (the ''snake'' of this story) was dispensing with her ''interpretation'' about the personalities and dynamics of my relationship with Gracie after she and my mother had returned from running about town, bringing me a vegetarian platter from a Mexican restaurant where they had dined, along with a pair of boots my sister had purchased for me. Much of what she said was ''spot-on,'' as usual... but her penchant for assessing beyond what falls within the realm of ''accuracy'' and ''reason'' sometimes comes across as a very deliberate attempt to  ''de-elevate''  somebody without giving the other person ample opportunity to correct the misconception, but I just let it go for the most part, deeming it not that important to huff over.

But the  ''Fit Hit the Shan''  for real Saturday night (Nov. 24) -- That's when ''Fred'' (supposedly her ''boyfriend''-- who also, supposedly, happens to be a ''married'' man --who lives here locally) had come by to visit and to work on my sister's laptop which seemed to be experiencing the same problems with accessing the modem network and Internet as Gracie's own unit had been. Fred had managed to clear-up my sister's problem in just a few short minutes, so I'd asked him if he would do me the favor of having a look at Gracie's laptop to see if her inability to get reconnected via  ''Windows''  could be corrected. Unfortunately, for all of his digging into the command lines, running of diagnostics, shutting down functions, and the all, Fred was unable to locate/correct what was preventing the system from accessing the ''public'' network (Internet), although after much of the tweaking he did manage to establish a connection between the computer and the ''home network'' (modem). But because of the level of involvement Fred was devoting to this task, my sister expressed impatience with him (granted, he did spend at least a half-hour and perhaps close to an hour trying to work on it) and she was trying to rush him off of the job: so this was the  second  indicator, but it was still was not enough to make me think that she was still on some slimy $#!T.

What really set things off was when after Fred had gone as far as he felt he could go with the repairs, that's when I remained in the hallway with Gracie's laptop and tried to do a little additional tweaking & exploring on my own, and though I had no clue what Fred had done to make it possible, this time, unlike every other previous time I'd attempted to do so during all of my trials & errors of trying to clear-up any or all of the problems that Gracie's laptop had developed which refused to be repaired or removed, I'd finally managed (quite by very accident) to access the  ''System Restore''  partition on her laptop's hard drive and activate it. Still somewhat skeptical, I took the plunge and selected the option to completely scrub Gracie's hard drive and have the recovery system restore the ''original factory settings'' OS & software suite (which of course would unfortunately mean that all of Gracie's saved files and preferences would be wiped out in the process).

It was during this time of overseeing the reinstallation of the OS software that I'd overheard the telephone conversation Gracie was having in our bedroom with her grandmother when she thought that I was out of the house and at, or on my way to, work (I'd been outside in the hallway the entire time, ever since Gracie had returned from her job and went ''straight to bed''). Throughout this conversation Gracie kept relaying to her grandmother all of the negative things about myself and my character (true or not) which had been fed to her by my sister, which only reaffirmed in her grandmother's mind that I was virtually a spawn of Satan who was devoid of any emotion and was some ruthless conniving controlling demon.

I was much less upset about what my sister had done and how she sleezily attempted to sabotage my relationship (which I still keep wavering on enough on my own without any outside ''assistance'' from anybody else) than I was that Gracie, as usual, had to run and relay every bit of my/our personal information to her grandmother, only this time everything said during this communiqué was centered around how ''cold'' and ''ruthless'' and ''manipulative'' I really was in this relationship -- and of course all of this negativity was fueled by the poison my sister had infused into Gracie's head after an all-night-long conversation she'd had with my sister the previous night that had lasted well into the next morning after I'd already come back home from work.

So much of what I'd been trying to enlighten Gracie about regarding how her grandmother uses emotionalism to control & manipulate her went getting tossed out the window, and they seemed to reveling in the idea that ''Grandma'' and others of her family were ''right about'' me all along. Needless to say, this put an uncomfortable strain on our interactions when I came to bed after she learned that I had been right outside of our bedroom entryway the entire time and had overheard everything she had relayed to her grandmother: I'd wanted to remain silent about the whole incident, but eventually I gave in and discussed what was happening and what my sister was attempting to do.

But what had happened also did not escape my mother's notice in the least, and on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 25), after having returned from a short grocery shopping trip, my mother confronted me and confided in me that she was aware of what my sister had done, on top of the fact that she had finally reached the point of indignation with my sister's constant unrelenting insistence on  ''dredging up the past''  of reiterating how Martha had ''failed'' as a wife and as a parent rather than letting go of the dark past and taking a page out of  Nelson Mandela's  playbook...  ''Truth... and Reconcilliation.'' As a result, Martha confronted Gwyndolyn (my sister) later in the evening when we were both back at the house together (I'd had the place entirely to myself most of the day and night, utilizing that free time on trying to get my dresser and desk drawers organized) and she essentially laid her out, stating once & for all that she'd had enough of all of the guilt-tripping and of all of the revisitations of past failures and of Gwyndolyn's utter refusal to leave it allto rest in the ''grave'' where ''dead'' things belong.

My indignation (though as yet unstated) stems from an entirely different place. My upset comes less from my sister's trying to put me in the worst possible light that she could devise without explanation or fair analysis, but when it involves spreading outright lies about things I'd supposedly done, and having the audacity to pull my Dad into her fabricated stories, I could only come to the conclusion that everything my mother had ever said about Gwyndolyn's  ''jealousy''  of her ''younger brother'' must indeed have some genuine validity.

November 26, 2012 (Monday)
18:50, Eastern Standard Time

Gwyndolyn announced this morning that she would be returning home to Kansas City, which even though it still fit in with what was said to be her  original  length of stay (three days), it was told to me by my mother prior to their confrontation that her stay had been extended to a full week... so this announcement came as a  slight  but not entirely unexpected shock.

After my sister's departure, my mother began to share more of what had taken place prior to and during their face-off, and about how Gwyn kept trying to make it an issue about  me  and about the dynamic I share with our mother, and about how my sister was trying to play  divisive politics  between Gracie and myself... even though, as I would learn both from my mother and from Gracie later, Gwyndolyn's involvement with ''Fred'' is that of a ''woman-on-the-side'' of a  ''snake'' man! -- the same sort of arrangement she'd admitted to me a few months ago as having had with the man I'd thought she was just ''best buddies'' with when I was living with her in Topeka, Kansas when I was 16-years-old.

Gracie also shared with me more of what Gwyndolyn had been sharing with her, much of which yet again turned out to be nothing but pure unadulterated lies that were so severe and serious that it eliminated my ''cautious'' approach to the things I'd overheard Gracie relaying to her grandmother -- the accusations were no longer ''ambiguous,'' but  [[...]]  blatant, with every & all attempt and intent to ''disrupt'' & ''destabilize.'' After this latest experience and these revelations, I'm now decidedly determined not to have any further dealings with this woman who has been assigned my  sibling,  and have designated her henceforth a ''toxic stranger'' and potential enemy! (I just couldn't keep ignoring the vibes in my gut, despite the many efforts I'd made to ''override'' them and to offer an extension of re-acceptance... but unfortunately, my suspicions about her all proved to be true; my ''feelings'' still have not lied to me regarding ''who'' & ''what'' my sister is and what she may perhaps  always  be.)

I'd called my father shortly before taking a nap, driven largely on the basis of the distortions about my interactions with him which kept coming up in Gracie's discussions with Gwyn, but also because I'd not spoken with anyone in Jersey about their progress in the aftermath of the ''Superstorm Sandy'' catastrophe: I'd also wanted to know if he was aware that Gwyndolyn was on this side of the country (he said he had indeed spoken with her since she had been here with us). It was also during this time that my Dad acknowledged that he'd finally sold-off his fixer-upper  ''Chevelle''  and had exchanged it for a  ''Ford Focus'' -- something Gwyndolyn did not divulge when I had brought the subject of the car up in a conversation with her on Friday (Nov. 23).
