Unmentioned Highlights from Previous Quarter...

Nothing seems to come to mind.

March 1 - 3, 2016 (Tuesday-Thursday)
''Remainder of Week in Review''

While dropping off my rent payment Tuesday morning (Mar. 1) I decided to bring up the issue of my immediately next-door neighbor was being a constant and extreme nuisance with his frequent loud yelling, laughing, chatting, etc. every single day at any & all given times day and night emanating through the paper-thin walls separating his ''living room'' from my ''bedroom,'' to the point where it had lately been taking me a considerable amount of effort to restrain myself from blowing a fuse and making my displeasure known in any number of personal ways. The property manager assured me that she would give that neighbor a call and inform him that the audible levels of his vocal behaviors were being a disruption to the serenity of his neighbors -- remarkably, later that day/night, he had indeed dialed it down noticeably, and though it did not last to quite the same levels across the course of the following couple of days, his audible outbursts & other irritatingly loud vocalizations were still being noticeably less obnoxious to an  almost  reasonable degree. I had been able to determine over the course of the previous couple of months that such nerve-grating behavior was predominantly, though in no ways exclusively, associated with his online multi-player ''RPG'' activity, whereby it would seem, due the lack of any other noises emanating from his unit, that he employed the use of headphones during these events.

After making my rent payment, I continued on to the convenience store location to be confronted with whether or not I would genuinely be allowed to pay my electricity bill without any added ''convenience'' penalty, and when it was confirmed that the only thing required of me was a signature on the receipt, I ''rewarded'' the service with the added cash purchases of a full tank of gasoline and a pricey ''slushie'' which I suspect might have been responsible for the  ''gutgraines''  (the convenient new term I'll be using to refer to the occasional bouts of migraines with intestinal issues I'm subject to) I'd endured throughout the following day (Wed., Mar. 2) which kept me from wanting to get out of bed or eat anything, even though the source of the problem may have just as likely come from the fake  mochi  (that I'd thrown half the package away after I'd read the list of ingredients and learned that they were made with  gelatin,  which I refuse to knowingly consume) that I'd purchased at the Thai ''Asian grocery'' on ''U.S. Highway 19'' (which I was not impressed with at all) on my way back to the apartment.

On Thursday (Mar. 3), after considerable debate over whether or not to drop another $150 for several additional (and hopefully final few) decorative bits for the apartment, I decided to give in and make several item purchases. My primary concern was trying to find alternatives to purchase many of the items from retailers other than ''Amazon.com'' after I'd learned last Saturday (Feb. 27) about their increasing the minimum purchase amount (from $35 to $49) in order to qualify for their ''free shipping'' incentive as their latest sneaky tactic to try to push people into subscribing to their B.S.  ''Amazon Prime''  gimmick. So to avoid not only the higher ''free shipping'' purchase minimum but also any sales tax assessments, I managed to order two of the triplicate of relatively cheap Ancient Egyptian-styled figurines I'd intended for the bedroom from a couple of independent sellers on Amazon, and placed an online ''in-store pick-up'' order of a ''Wandering Jew'' silk plant through the ''KMart/Sears'' website; the remaining Amazon-purchased items of a storage ottoman (to hopefully help give the main room a more ''filled-in'' look & feel) and the remaining figurine were purchased together in order to cancel out the shipping charge against the figurine, but remarkably, and without fully understanding why, this remaining order did not have a sales tax assessment applied to it.

March 9, 2016 (Wednesday)
23:45, Eastern Standard Time

I was finally able to wake up to an apartment since the cold weather set in where it was warm/comfortable throughout, including the floors.

During my errand runs, I first went to the post office to retrieve the ottoman I'd ordered, and to claim a couple of smaller items that had arrived earlier in the week, and became extremely pissed that the ''Anubis Dog'' statuette I'd order was microscopic in size, when I was expecting something cheap but comparable in size to something roughly like a pair of eyeglasses, at least -- don't really like the idea of spending $10 for something barely the size of my thumb: it was something of a minor relief that I had not set up any new wall-mounted shelf boards I'd planned on in anticipation of having them to rest the figurines upon. I would also learn later that the crystal strands I'd ordered were not linked together like a curtain, but consisted of individual strands, which left me concerned about what to do with the extra mini curtain rod I'd ordered & received some weeks prior.

After dropping those initial item off at the apartment, I then left in search of of the local ''Sears'' store on U.S. Highway 19, stopping briefly at the motorcycle dealership en route in order to schedule service to address the recall notice I'd received.

Unable to locate the Sears store, having overshot its location (standard occurrence for topography-lacking Florida), so I had to resort to the GPS, having to address and try to correct the weak hold of the suction cup base which kept popping off after after only a few short minutes. Once I'd arrived, I claimed my ''Wandering Jew'' hanging silk plant, then traversed the mall before returning to the apartment: I would again feel some disappointment upon learning that the silk plant was not a ''hanging'' plant, as I'd originally believed.

Ottoman set-up was extremely easy, and its surprisingly large size helped to somewhat offset the other disappointments.

March 11 - 13, 2016 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

Spent almost the entire days of Friday and Saturday (Mar. 11-12) attempting to install  ''Mageia Linux''  onto my secondary desktop computer system and having it run disk repair diagnostics (including overnight the first time around) which all helped to confirm in my mind my long-held suspicion that the hard drive I'd mounted in the system, which was the ''replacement'' drive I'd received when my original 2-terabyte hard drive failed, was in actuality itself a  ''refurbished''  unit. But not only did I keep receiving ''imminent failure'' notices from a refusing-to-load hard drive, but neither would I load a ''Linux LiveDVD'' from the optical drive, all of which drove me to rip out components and then, on the following day (Sun., Mar. 13), to resort to trying to transfer the other 2TB hard drive from my primary system (still with  ''Windows XP''  installed) and working with it instead. On the mutual plus and minus side, ''Win-XP'' would load and grant me access to my files, but because of the new system environment the software kept asking for it to be ''registered'' which phone support would not assist me with and which I could not be able to attempt to respond to online because I could not access the Internet, neither could I access other computers on the home network, nor could the system locate/install/play any sound devices, so that everything I'd attempted to do via Win-XP other than just accessing files and engaging in some limited ''personalization'' tweaks was all pretty much not even going to happen. On top of it all, I still could not get the ''Linux'' DVD to appear in the OS or to boot from the disc, so I decided to put the whole thing on hold and wait until was feeling up to making another attempt at installing a ''Linux'' partition on the 2TB from the primary system instead.

Retrieved my latest packages from the post office, with a considerable lack of enthusiasm because I was again expecting to be disappointed with the other Egyptiana figurines after having received an infuriating ''toy'' in the ''Anubis'' figurine, but was both pleased and pissed that in these follow-up instances the ''Bastet'' and ''Kneeling Winged Isis'' statuettes were a lot closer to the size I'd imagined they'd be. As a result of this discovery, I'd intended after returning with a few grocery items to write a scathing review of the ''Anubis'' statuette and its manufacturer, only to learn about the ''twice dupe'' where the seller had supplied TWO DIFFERENT SETS of dimension measurements, with one of them actually presenting the more ''accurate'' information, preventing a rant about having been ''deceived'' and ''lied to.''

Also related to ''home decor'' type issues, I'd also found that my ''wall mural'' sticker had also arrived with the latest packages, having not expected it until close to the end of the month, plus the maintenance man finally came by Friday with the replacement window screen, ironically only just a few hours after I'd mentioned it myself and had resigned myself to the idea that it was never going to occur.

March 14, 2016 (Monday)
23:45, Eastern Daylight Time

What is likely to go down in the record books as having been my most stressful day since having moved into this apartment, it ended with me being pushed to the breaking point where I could no longer tolerate the next door neighbor's hollering and boisterous cackling and trying to rectify it with a call to the local police  (something I'd already come close to doing the previous night, but opting against it, given the fact that it was a ''weekend'' night)  to see if he'd listen to their authority, since he claimed to the visiting officers that he'd not received any calls from the property manager about the noise complaints: most thankfully, he was still actively going at it when the officers arrived at his door (roughly around 22:20, about 10-15 minutes after I'd placed the call), so they were able to get a sample of what I'd told them I've had to constantly endure since I've been residing here.

The adventure began with me making renewed attempts to get  Linux  installed on the secondary desktop system, especially after determining that another factor preventing me from getting the process to take also involved the twitchy optical drive which utterly refused to install media. After considerable debate regarding whether or not to do the installation on a partition of the 2TB hard drive with the  ''Windows XP''  program (which had to be ''reactivated'' in the primary system), I finally made the decision to do the installation, contemplating leaving the alternate optical drive I borrowed from the primary system with the ''Mageia/XP'' system, which would've in fact been  restoring  the DVD-ROM drive that originally came with the refurbished system I was trying to re-purpose, while considering replacing it with another new opti-drive for the primary unit. Not only did the installation process prove to be one major-sized headache of massive complication and confusion, but even after I'd finally managed to get everything up & running it became clear to me that any attempts to transition over to ''Linux'' (which was intended to be in preparation of Windows-7 ''end-of-support'' / force-ya into ''Windows 10'' force-feeding frenzy) was going to be a lesson in pure futility as even programs that were installed as part of the whole package were not fully operative (this was especially the case with the multimedia programs I'd attempted to execute). In final frustration, I decided to re-insert the hard drive back into the primary unit with the idea of entering into those environments on an occasional basis, but then the ''Linux'' OS decided to  hijack  my boot sequence-- even when trying to make the boot preference choice in  pre-boot  mode --so that I had to resort to disconnecting the 2TB drive altogether in order to consistently reboot back into ''Windows 7'' by default.

All of the computing hassles had also driven me to completely dismantle the secondary desktop setup and consider the whole thing  trash  at that point, infuriatingly reminding me that I'd wasted God only remembers how much money having the things shipped down here. I had initially intended to try to salvage the monitor by hooking it to my primary laptop, but it was another major failure not only because of the ''screen resolution'' mismatch issues but also/especially because of the persistently off ''color scheme'' and limited brightness issues that that monitor has always had, which was what pushed me into purchasing the new one in the first place. So in an attempt to reclaim some of the newly emptied space and set up something relatively ''useful,'' I re-purposed what was supposed to be the workstation for the refurbished ''desktop'' system for ''Linux'' as a workstation for the primary refurbished ''laptop'' system, where the idea is to keep it as a back-up work station connected to the ''home network'' but ready to pack-up and carry along should the need/desire ever arise.

All of these electronic hassles really made me feel like shit all day because it was interfering with my ability to finally try to branch out and explore some places & possibilities on what was essentially the first day that felt & sounded like ''summer'' since I'd gotten myself established in Florida, compounded by the realization that I'd missed that whole  ''Daylight Saving Time''  switch-over garbage, which I did not even become aware of until I looked at my cellphone to see which ''scambot'' dialer was ''robocalling'' my number.

I did also manage at some point to paste my wall mural with not too much difficulty, but I have yet to see anything spectacular about it (perhaps having already been thoroughly ''pre-corrupted'' by all of the promotional imagery?), other than being aware that it casts a lot of glare.

March 21 - 27, 2016 (Monday-Sunday)
''Full Week in Review''

Took the motorcycle in for the ''recall'' service Tuesday (Mar. 22), browsing around a few shops inside ''Gulf View Square'' shopping mall while the work was being done, then stopped in for what I referred to as a  ''greaseburger''  at the area ''Steak 'n Shake'' after the job was finished, then grabbed a few items at ''Winn-Dixie'' before returning to the apartment, where I eventually succumbed to another bout of migraines and some really unpleasant & unrelenting gut issues that had been gradually building the entire day, which were being compounded by some uncontrollable nasal issues as well, but nothing else considered cold/flu symptom-like.

Did not venture out again until Sunday afternoon when I did a mail check and had intended to check prices at a local coin-op laundry on Grand Bvd., first diverting to ''Dollar Tree,'' not really certain what I was going for, but wound up getting among other household items a number of items for a flower arrangement display which I'd initially intended to use for the stone decorative planter in front of my apartment unit but which I'd repurposed for a shelf decoration for out in the main room.

I then made preparations to wash the motorcycle after returning, only to snap the garden hose from its base, resulting in my first official use of the duct tape which I'd ordered with the intent of stabilizing the cracks in my replaced coffee pot, in hopes of salvaging the brewing unit in case a potential arises where it could be utilized at a future jobsite, resulting in a hold just barely strong & lasting enough for me to complete a parking area spray-down. Once everything was dried off, I added air to my tires then broke out the motorcycle cover I'd purchased months back but never got around to using until this moment in response to both the hard sunlight and especially all of the heavy dust in the area, but it turned out that the size of the cover was not sufficient to cover everything as I'd always been accustomed to.

Called my mother around 21:00 for the first time since settling in Florida and we ended up talking on up to the Midnight hour.

March 31, 2016 (Thursday)
23:55, Eastern Daylight Time

After having postponed everything throughout the week, partially due to rainy weather, partially due to very offset sleep patterns, I finally got myself out to go on a bill-paying errand run after an initial stop at the post office to retrieve my fake spider plant hanging basket and a book and DVD. I first rode to Tarpon to pay my electric bill which was due on this date (I had initially believed that it would not be due until Friday), followed by my rent payment, where I informed them about the damage I'd caused to the garden hose when I was washing my motorcycle a few days prior, and to inquire if the property owner might see to allowing me to tear up the ground outside of my window in order to raise my own vegetable garden.

After those errands, I washed the bed blanket at the coin-op laundry just over the bridge on Grand Bvd., having to make it a repeat trip because I'd forgotten to bring my laundry detergent the first time, then finished the rest of the wash at the apartment site.

Someone moving into the apartment across from me late in the night.

April 11 - 14, 2016 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

After repeatedly putting myself through unwarranted stress online over the past couple of weeks with regard to attempting, in all futility, to locate a ''mirror clock'' of  any  kind, but especially one similar in fashion to the one I had when I'd lived in Galveston (which, if memory serves me correctly, I'd acquired while still living in Kansas, post-divorce), then trying to track down the same style of ''modern pendulum'' wall clock that my mother keeps in her television room which resulted in an even more shit-thrown-in-face failure, while concurrently attempting to track down copies of the two framed posters I'd asked my mother to ship to me and coming up just as empty in that department as well, I'd finally made the decision to stop fucking torturing my brain over the inexplicably unproductive issue(s) and settled on the idea of searching the Internet for alternative images I felt would add some charm & personality to my enclosed dwelling spaces and enlisting ''Staples'' to print them out in poster size for me.

I ordered said ''poster'' prints on Wednesday (Apr. 13) and was told that they would not be available for pick-up until the following afternoon, which I followed with a trip to ''Dollar Tree'' for number of mostly incidental supplies but which would include a wall mirror and a couple of 8''x10'' picture frames I'd intended to house the companion prints of「火山女神ペレ」from one of the student magazines from when I was still working on the ''Kapi'olani Community College'' campus, which I'd delayed on framing for all of such time because I had lacked any initiative to do any ''matting'' modifications to compensate for the unusual 6''x7.5'' magazine page measurements -- finding suitable yet relatively inexpensive frames for the downloaded images I was having printed were equally as much of a headache with no genuinely satisfying solution.

I received my Kona coffee order the following morning (Wed., Apr. 13), ironically only two days after my mother had finally acquired her item which had been delivered to her around the last week of March but which she claimed she never received until I provided her with the tracking number and told her to inquire about it from the desk clerk (my own order was being held-up because it was combined with a DVD ''pre-order'' shipment), and despite having bastardized it later that night in my usual fashion (with cinnamon and ice cream - in this case, 'chocolate-cherry') I really could honestly say that not all coffees are the same and I found myself really liking the stuff.

After the Post Office stop, I went to retrieve my finished prints, and was pleased to learn that the clerk on duty had rung-up a ''membership discount'' for me, which knocked down my original quoted price of just shy of $30 for the pair to just a little over $25! (...and even though I was a bit shocked by the originally quoted price, I'd by that time not cared a whole helluva lot about the final cost in order to leave with something I hand-picked-- and in one of the cases, ''modified'' myself --after all of the cyber-hell I'd gone through attempting to find something that had once been marketed and now made impossible to find ever again). On the way back to the apartment I stopped into a different ''Dollar Tree'' store for a second mirror, only to learn upon final inspection that the face had a series of inescapable scratches (I'd been so preoccupied with making sure the ''frame'' portion of free of that nearly-impossible to scrape off resin, especially while doing so wearing dark sunglasses, I was not attentive to any other damages present), which I would end up returning for exchange the following afternoon (Thu., Apr. 14) before my brief trek to ''Lowe's'' for a couple of items.

All the rush & worry regarding the putting on of ''final touches'' around the apartment were in large part spawned from my earlier attempt over the weekend to ''video-document'' the current/upgraded status of the place since I'd acquired it, which I wanted to ''private share'' via the online video hosting site which shall forever go unnamed: it was during this recording activity that I'd become aware of the need to replace the ''internal/memory'' battery of the camera, which resulted in ''Radio Shack'' being one of my return stops Tuesday evening.

April 17 - 20, 2016 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

With pretty much all of my ''self-establishment'' activities being more-or-less achieved, I began entering the ''job search'' mode, the opening salvo having been launched late Sunday night through the earliest hours of Monday morning (Apr. 17-18), filling out a frustratingly nit-picky online application for the first company I'd attempted to respond to, followed by an online resume-submission to a second company which then directed me to fill out one of their own ''online'' applications which was about as user-friendly as mongoose is ''cobra-friendly.'' I also eventually expressed interest in the national/international company I'd once worked for (Tue., Apr. 19), but was not permitted to access the actual ''application'' portion of their website.

Also on Tuesday I called a number of another service which claimed to have opportunities available in my local area, but which required the application process to take place in person in St. Petersburg, which was a positive in my case in the fact that I'd been wanting to go on an excursion to both major cities in the Bay Area proper for quite some time, and this would afford me the opportunity to do just that.

I almost ran the risk of screwing myself over when I awoke to the alarm clock the next morning (Wed., Apr. 20), because I decided to try to take a little post-alarm ''snooze'' before getting down to business, but I'd forgotten to reset the alarm for that very purpose. In any event, I got up the motivation to ''Get Action'' (to quote Teddy Roosevelt) and get everything prepared & organized.

I managed to depart in good time, but I was unprepared for the ''US 19'' rush hour traffic, especially going into St. Petersburg, having pretty much memorized the route, according to the online map, even though I did finally have to resort to using the GPS to guide me the rest of the way, as I'd taken an early turnoff and had become slightly disoriented but not necessarily misdirected, still managing to arrive ahead of the 10:00 time I'd committed to. It was during this particular application filing process that alerted me to the need of bringing certain additional items of information along with me prior to such sessions: realizing this perhaps being due to the unexpected but appreciated situation of being presented with the nowadays ever so RARE opportunity to fill out a legitimate ''hard copy''  paper  job application.

After submitting my application with the local administrator and engaging in brief chit-chat with her before leaving, she mentioned to me that another competing company, which habitually and frequently posts ''help wanted'' ads on ''Craig's List,'' had just that same day posted another Craigslist profile advertising that they would be holding a ''job fair'' for their company on the following day (sounded  very  odd, to say the least).

From there, I continued on to Tampa to stop by the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services office to inquire about obtaining a list of all the companies in my career field who are registered to operate in Florida, and (not surprisingly) I was informed that the information to that effect that I'd received from one of my apartment complex neighbors who does work in the same field was incorrect.

Just prior to that business-related stop-over, I first made my promised re-visit to ''Ybor City'' just so I could once again dine at ''New York, New York'' pizzeria. Before returning to my motorcycle, I decided to step inside the ''everything in the store is only $5'' heat-press transfer t-shirt shop just a few storefronts away from the pizzeria, where after a long time of looking around (because of issues of either finding the right designs on the wrong sizes, the right colors with the wrong designs, the right color & design & size but with damaged materials, etc., etc., etc.) I finally decided (read: ''settled'') on a pair of t-shirts -- one for myself, one to send as a gift to ''Gracie.''

For my final stop in Tampa I paid a visit to the Asian grocery market I'd frequented the first time I'd come to Tampa for my instructional classes, where I purchased a bottle of lychee-flavored sake, a tin of jasmine tea (to replace the one I'd accidentally given to my mother prior to leaving Virginia), a couple of packages of mochi, a few jars of furikake (even though they were $4/jar), and a huge bag of panko flakes, deciding against refrigerated items such as kim chee, due to the return-travel times/distances.

Just prior to starting the return trip, I was forced to fill the motorcycle's fuel tank, and was pleasantly surprised to learn that the gasoline chain I'd visited across from the shopping center alerted me to the fact that I could use ''Winn-Dixie'' 'fuel points' there and that I'd accumulated enough to qualify for a 10˘/gal. discount. I then made use of the GPS to guide me back taking an alternate route through Hillsborough County instead of crossing back over to St. Petersburg and through Pinellas County via ''US Highway 19.''

After returning to the apartment, I decided to investigate what I'd been informed of by the company I'd just applied with, and found that the second company in question did indeed advertise that they would be holding a ''job fair'' for the following day -- in an online posting which, by the time I'd accessed it, was ONLY SEVEN (7) HOURS OLD! (...And they somehow considered that to be reasonable ''advanced notice''???) So I twice submitted my résumé to the email address they'd provided, along with my contact information, in hopes of receiving a timely-enough response to let me know where and when they would be holding their job fair, and each time I got sent back a ''failure of delivery'' notice saying that the supplied email address the company had provided was ''blocked.'' In response to the résumé submission failure, I called the phone number they'd also included in their posting to explain the situation with the emails and to hopefully get a quick response on how to re-submit my résumé as well as get the required time-&-place details on the job fair, only to be redirected to ''voicemail.''

I did not receive a return call to the voicemail message I'd left from anyone associated with that second company until the very next morning (Thu., Apr. 21), but which I somewhat shamefully let it go to my own voicemail and decided to put off responding to their call until several hours later, which would upsettingly prove to have spared me an even more unwarranted waste of my time anyway, as the ''return number'' I'd been given to 'follow-up' on turned out to be the EXACT SAME NUMBER leading to the EXACT SAME VOICEMAIL of the EXACT SAME REPRESENTATIVE who likewise did not (or refused to) directly answer the call that I had encountered and had to deal with the previous afternoon! And calling back the number as it appeared on my ''caller ID'' display actually took me directly to the recorded ''national dispatch'' switchboard! As a result, I concluded that what I was encountering & dealing with was as clear of a sign as any that such a chaotic mess had to be typical of how their entire business model must operate (especially considering how frequently and prominently they keep putting out the word that they're always seemingly in need of help), and thus I made the decision to avoid (at least for the time being) any further pursuits with regard to that particular company.

Later in the afternoon I would hear the sound of rapidly draining water was seemed to be spilling into the cabinet beneath the kitchen sink, and sure enough there was a catastrophe to deal with, as the water in the sink was leaking from the base where the drainage unit connects to the sink basin, and I found myself having to wipe up the massive puddle of water that had accumulated on the floorboard of the cabinet-- which was thankfully prevented from seeping into the base due to the ''contact paper'' I'd lain --and emptying the contents of the bucket I kept stored underneath which seemed to have been in such a position to capture the greater bulk of the leaked water. I immediately informed the rental office about the situation, and they said they might be able to have somebody come by to assess the problem on Tuesday. But sure enough, throughout the remainder of the day/night, the problem could not be repeated, at least not to the same degree as before I'd reported the incident.

April 25 - 28, 2016 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

When daybreak Monday morning rolled around (Apr. 25) I immediately called the property manager as soon as their office hours began to instruct them to put a delay on having anyone sent out to check on the kitchen sink, explaining that since that leaking incident I'd called about I was unable to reproduce a similar scenario, so I informed them that I would continue on as normal while keeping watch on if/when the issue should re-occur.

Received a text message from my mother Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 26) saying she'd just read the last letter I'd sent to her, wherein I'd mentioned that I no longer required the framed posters I'd asked for because I'd since done my own thing, and said that she would get around to sending them, mistakenly assuming that I was trying to remind her to send them, along with the wall clock which I'd also mentioned was something I'd initially considered asking her for but decided against out of concern that it might seem somewhat ''greedy.'' I immediately sent a follow-up text in response explaining that the posters were no longer necessary.

I then wound up working from late in the evening on upwards to just past 08:10 the next morning (Wed., Apr. 27), having not been to sleep since some time after 13:00 Tuesday afternoon, to complete filling-in the the job application email attachment that had been sent to me on Friday morning (Apr. 22) by the same company I'd complained about receiving the runaround from  (ironically, just as I was including that very bit of additional information I'd forgotten to mention in the previous week's entry)  not long after I'd received a call from the same company representative I'd been needing to engage with who informed me that there was a second ''job fair'' being planned at the same location as the previous one they'd advertised that they had scheduled for Wednesday. But rather than trying to take advantage of the newly arrived morning to get as early a start on the interview process as I could, I'd opted instead to try to catch a couple short hours of lie-down rest so I would not have to concern myself with worry about possibly getting hit with fatigue later on in the day: as it would turn out, I would've missed that additional ''job fair'' anyway, had I chosen venture out earlier, because as part of a last-minute ''change of plans,'' I was informed that the location had been moved from the hospital to their own regional office in Tampa.

En route to the ''job fair,'' I first stopped off at the convenience mart in Tarpon Springs to pay the electric bill, then stopped off at ''Staples'' to transfer my completed email-attachment job application to paper medium and to copy an additional set to retain for myself as a future job application  ''cheat sheet,''  as these job applications nowadays-- and this one in particular --are mining for every single nugget of personal information right down to the individual genome sequence!

I found the company office without too much trouble, and there learned that their concept of ''job fair'' is not the same as the standard and commonly understood definition: rather, in their minds, a ''job fair'' being held at a designated location more accurately means: ''We're accepting job applications from individuals who are interested in working at this specific location.'' When my confusion about that became clear, it seemed to be the catalyst which opened an avenue for the discussion of a wider range options... especially when I expressed some apprehension upon the revelation that if I were to accept a position with the hospital, which was where they were placing a greater focus of their attentions at the time, that it would be quite commonplace for me to encounter and inevitably be directly affected by violence and violent behaviors.

On the way back to the apartment I had the GPS direct me along an alternative route which would place me on a path which would position me near the property management office so I could pay next month's rent en route; unfortunately, the office was already closed upon my arrival.

Around 23:40 later that night, I investigated the rustling noises occurring outside my kitchen window, expecting to see a cat prowling about, turned out to be an  armadillo,  which I had no idea even existed in Florida.

Received a follow-up call from the potential employer that I let go to voicemail Thursday morning (Apr. 28), whom I called back in the early afternoon, whereupon the representative on the line reaffirmed the information in the earlier recorded message that they'd like to consider me for the position at one of their local private school campuses that was discussed as an alternative option when I was with them in-office. A few hours later, I answered a return call from them and received more and updated information about the job offer along with a request to return to the office the next morning to begin filling out the important pre-hire paperwork.

Left the apartment just shy past 11:00 to keep my employment application appointment, stopping off en route first at the post office to mail ''Gracie'' her T-shirt and then at the property management office to pay next month's rent.

There was a mountain of paperwork they'd required me to fill out (some of which was not truly relevant to the position they were considering me for), more form-filling for this type of work-- or any type of work, for that matter --than I'd ever been subjected to as part of a ''pre-hire'' process. I won't know anything for certain until their background checks on me pass muster.

Not long after I'd arrived back in town, just blocks away from the supermarket on Highway ''US-19'' where I'd planned to stop for some quick shopping for a limited number of items, a mini-van nearly clipped me (literally by about only three inches) as I was moving into the passing lane when the asswipe driving completely ignored my ''turn signal'' intention, which I'd confirmed with a test of all of my hazard lights on the motorcycle before I left the shopping center parking lot...  IRONICALLY  right after I'd presented such road hazards (vehicles dangerously weaving in-&-out of traffic, cutting it very close with the most minimal access room, all while disregarding any usage of turn signals prior to doing so) as the most prevalent ''Dangerous/Bad Driver'' practice particular to Floridians, or at the very least those drivers common to the ''Tampa Bay'' areas.

Finally received the follow-up call from the latest perspective employer around 16:00 this afternoon-- admittedly a few days earlier than I'd expected or anticipated --with confirmation that they had cleared my background check to satisfaction and requested that I return to their main office Friday morning to conclude the last remaining details prior to assignment.

Partially motivated by the employment news, partially by perceived remaining household deficiencies, I decided to loosen-up on some of the more determined restraints I'd held on my credit access in order to purchase a secondary electric frypan (to counterbalance any unnecessary wasteful energy usages from having to be pushed into using the oven or stove top as companion/backup cooking assistants which I'd been making a habit of avoiding anyway precisely because of the energy-consumption concerns), a pair of computer mice to replace the broken/defective items that had to be discarded over the past couple of weeks, as well as splurging needlessly on a ''full case'' (12 bags) of  ''Kona coffee''  in order to take advantage of a promotional offer that would, after all was said & done (with the inclusion of taxes/shipping/etc.), result in just slightly over  $13/item  vs. the normal $18/unit price, and finally giving in on purchasing a ''Blu-ray'' optical drive for the computer system, mainly over fears that it appears from all indications that ''Warner Brothers'' is going to screw the ''DVD'' market by limiting the ''extended/R-rated'' (''Ultimate Edition'') home-release versions of  ''BATMAN v SUPERMAN: Dawn of Justice''  to the ''Blu-ray/Hi-Def'' video formats.

''Weekend in Review''

Arrived on site exactly on-time to complete the confirmation/preparatory phase with the new employer Friday morning (May 6)... was told that I'd be contacted after the weekend with more details & scheduling.

Rather than randomly running around after the meeting, I'd decided to return straight to the apartment, after a brief stop-in at ''Winn-Dixie'' for just a few items. Upon returning, I hung the decorative wind chime my mother had sent me, then hoped to get some enjoyment out of my replacement ''sports car'' computer mouse only to learn that the LED tracking light would not work, thereby deactivating the ''pointer'' feature: I contacted the seller (''Marketplace'' non-Amazon seller out of China) inquiring about a replacement unit.

Saturday morning (May 7) I tried to ''coffee-off'' a small migraine which later exploded into a full-on typical ill-fest, this time complimented with runny nasal issues, which lasted well into Sunday morning (May 8), keeping me bedridden for pretty much the entire time.

May 10, 2016 (Tuesday)
23:55, Eastern Daylight Time

Took an alternative route to my assigned worksite via Rowan Road in an attempt to keep the appointment I'd agreed to with the main office the previous afternoon, trusting the route as plotted out by  ''Yahoo! Maps''  (or whatever service sites like  ''Yelp''  are using), and somehow still managed to bypass my ''Tampa Road'' turn-off, finally resorting to GPS when I found myself at the access point of the ''Campbell Causeway,'' finally arriving shy of a quarter-hour past expected time, but since it was not an ''official'' on-the-clock situation (or at least I do not think it was) and was more of an ''introductory'' meeting it was really not such a huge issue.

On the return trip I'd again managed to forget where the turn-off to Rowan Road was, so had to return via ''US-Highway 19'' again. As I was to learn later, the ''Tampa Road'' turn-off I was supposed to have taken each time turned out to be at the same spot (''Tarpon Lake Canal'') where I caught a brief glimpse of an alligator floating in the middle of the body of water: because of the inconvenient location and the heavy traffic flow I was unable to pull to a stop and gawk like a noob.

Also during the return trip I learned that perhaps I genuinely was the one who was at fault for the near collision mentioned late last month (April 29), as I almost could've had a repeat performance had it not been for my determination to exercise extra caution & alertness to my surroundings prior to attempting any lane changes: it seemed that I'd fallen into the habit of ''sitting rigid'' and putting-off on my typical ''forward-leaning'' mirror checks.

Decided to cycle through more images of ''African-themed'' female images (mostly silhouetted drawings) that I wanted to consider for additional wall poster art projects.

Still not fully ready to call it a day/night, I decided to take the motorcycle out for a night ride with really no place in mind planned, eventually pulling into ''KMart,'' again with really nothing intended, but figuring I'd likely pick something up while inside, settling on a couple of bottles of eye drops, which I've been without forever.

May 12 - 15, 2016 (Thursday-Sunday)
''Extended Weekend in Review''

Was scheduled to the assigned worksite for a series of several days of on-site training beginning Thursday afternoon (May 12) and not letting up until a quarter-hour past Midnight, only to be told to return just seven and a half hours later (Friday morning, May 13). I retrieved my delivered  ''Blu-ray'' optical drive  en route as I was returning to the apartment.

The next scheduled work shift (Fri.) had me standing literally for the duration of the the entire workday, and by the time I'd returned to the apartment my upper calfs, the back of my knees, and the lower insides of my thighs felt as though someone was slicing carving knives through them.

I'd installed the new optical drive after I'd returned from the work day that afternoon, but did not involve myself with testing out the ''free player'' software I'd downloaded about a week earlier  (''Leawo Blu-ray Player'')  until the following morning (Sat., May 14) before having to return in the afternoon for the next work shift, which would again last all the way until a quarter 'til Midnight.

My coffee order was waiting for me when I checked the P.O. Box on the return trip to the apartment, pumping the air out of all but four of the bags and placing them inside zip-lock bags before storing them away in the freezer, which left me one zip-lock bag short, thus postponing the storage of the remaining units.

When I woke up on my own later in the morning (Sun., May 15), it was at exactly 8:00 -- 45 minutes past the time that I was scheduled to be on site for my final day of workplace familiarity & training. I immediately called the supervisor on-duty and explained that I had set the alarm clock time but I had failed to ''activate'' the alarm: I would arrive on site somewhere around 10:45 -- still unable to comprehend how a trip that is supposedly roughly less than 25 miles still requires at least a full hour to complete the distance, regardless of which route I take.

May 16 - 19, 2016 (Monday-Thursday)
''Week in Review''

Monday (May 16) marked the beginning of my first ''official'' day on the new job schedule, which had already been established even prior to the ''training/introduction'' week, but I'd also been told that I would be receiving an adjusted ''regular'' work week on the subsequent schedule which would cater more to my frequently stated desired preferences.

Prior to leaving for work on that day however, I'd experienced start-up (or more accurately, ''non-start'') problems with the primary computer system, which came almost as no surprise as I'd had a gnawing gut suspicion the previous night that something would likely go screwy with the system immediately after I would have approved the downloading & application of the latest list of ''system updates'' from  ''Microsoft,''  which was something I thought I was preparing for by creating a ''system restore point'' prior to actual execution -- yet, in an ironic, almost seemingly conspiratorial twist, no part of the file system could be accessed to even allow me to recall the system back-up & revert to the previous restore point. All finally became clear as I attempted to make repairs by navigating through the installation disk, but just the disc loading was somehow in an of itself enough to clear-up whatever was preventing the system from restarting.

On Tuesday (May 17), after a considerable rainstorm had passed through, I was treated to my first ever live view of a  ''Rosette Spoonbill,''  which I was not aware ventured this far upstate, who seemed to be working in unison with another crane or crane-like water fowl which I could not identify. It was also on this day that I brought to work with me a $13 tray of the worst pad thai I'd ever experienced which I'd purchased just a few blocks away from the worksite: not only were the noodles tough as nails and the sauce too sweet, but for what they called ''shrimp'' pad thai only contained THREE (3) tail-on shrimp! (Good thing I'm not a ''Yelper''... I'm just sayin'.)

Picked up on Wednesday (May 18) what I thought would be the final set of poster frames for the remaining images I'd planned to translate into wall hangings, only to discover to my disappointment that I had accidentally ordered the sizes  way too big  of 24'' x 36'' when my intention was to do a repeat in the sizes of 18'' x 24''.

Went to the ''expected-but-not-really-mandatory'' meeting we had all been instructed to attend at the jobsite Thursday afternoon (May 19), being one of only one other ''low-ranking'' person to have attended: as a result of the weak showing, the scheduling manager who had called the meeting said he would compensate us a full hour's presence for what eventually became a barely 15-minute chat session.

Prior to the trip back, I took the opportunity to revisit ''Ybor City,'' did the ''New York New York'' pizza-by-the-slice thing again, then went back to the T-Shirt shop in hopes of finding a couple of items, particularly something for my mother, but again finding that anything that looked even remotely interesting was always somehow ''mismatched,'' badly stained, or, in the instance of a ''hoodie'' I'd really would've gone for to send to Mom, lacking in availability across a reasonable range of sizes, so on this trip, unlike my last visit, I refused to just settle and walked out of the store without making even so much as a ''just buy something/anything; don't leave empty-handed'' purchase out of some seeming 'obligation.'

And finally, the trips I'd taken along Interstates ''4'' and ''275'' have convinced me once and for all that everybody whom I've ever spoken with since I've been here who have non-sarcastically expressed to me that Florida drivers are the worst in the country are indeed correct, if the driving practices of the Tampa Bay areas-- especially in & around the larger cities --are a reliable gauge to go by! These are by far the most careless, disregarding, and unconcerned vehicle operators I think I've encountered anywhere, including impatient-assed horn-leaning Central New Jerseyites!

May 20 - 22, 2016 (Friday-Sunday)
''Weekend in Review''

Finished out my first "official'' work week with the new job/jobsite over the Friday (May 20) & Saturday (May 21) weekend, regrettably arriving a half-hour late on the final day, again as a result of having neglected to set the alarm to awaken me.

After work on Friday I stopped off at ''Staples'' office supply store to inquire about applying for their discount/membership card ahead of submitting my final poster art print jobs, then shuffled a few doors down to ''Dollar Tree'' for a few food items, particularly to stock up on any bottles of the 8.4 oz. sizes of  ''Martinelli's''  'Sparkling Grape Juice' they might've had available at that location, subsequently purchasing all of what they had had stocked on their shelves at the time (amounting to 19 bottles total) in order to make up for having not taken similar advantage of another plentiful availability when I'd made an earlier purchase of a few bottles of both the ''grape juice'' and ''apple cider'' varieties during a stop into the store located on ''Florida State Highway 54'' only to find all the ''grape'' versions completely sold out during a return visit a few days afterward when the main intention was to purchase a second broom and a floor mop (I would experience some disappointment upon learning that unlike the 'sparkling apple cider,' which claimed to be 100% pure unadulterated apple juice, the 'sparkling grape juice' varieties were carbonated water and reconstituted concentrates).

After the Saturday work day, along with independently exploring another alternative route back from my jobsite in Tampa, I made the decision to go on a hiking tour of the ''James E. Grey Preserve,'' in large part due to the fact that I'd brought my camera to work with me with the hope of capturing images of some of the aquatic bird life that seemed to be a regular feature at the jobsite. As far as actual ''wildlife'' was concerned, there was not much noticeable activity taking place at the preserve, finding myself engaging more in surreptitiously photo/video documenting much of the  human  activities I'd observed taking place there.

Was greeted with what I'd somehow already knew to suspect on Sunday morning (May 22) when upon deciding to finally get around to opening the box of pancake mix I'd had shipped to Florida ahead of myself in order to make a batch of waffles for the first time since having arrived here I discovered that the completely unopened package had been infested with those infuriating joy-killing  flour mites  which I suspect gnawed the several tiny holes into the interior bag that were discovered in order to gain access, forcing me to completely change my mind all over again about whether or not to repeal my seemingly paranoid and obsessive habit of storing flours & other grain-derived box/bag packaged items in the freezer out of my desire to free-up precious freezer space.

May 25, 2016 (Wednesday)
16:30, Eastern Daylight Time

Received a pre-Midnight call last night ''reminding'' me that I was scheduled to come in to work, which I disputed, explaining that the last time I had been shown the schedule when I was last at the job site it showed that I was not due again until later today; first it would be suspected, then later confirmed after I'd arrived at the job and investigated all of the available documentation, that what had occurred was that before I'd left the jobsite the last time I'd been shown an updated schedule which I had assumed was part of a last-minute readjustment (which seemed like a reasonable assumption, given all of the seasonable changes at the site, a new supervisor, etc.) that had supplanted the one which I was being told was still in effect when in fact the latest schedule I'd been shown was for the following week.

The after-work ride back to the apartment was an unnerving experience: first, I'd thought I'd forgotten my wallet, which had me worrying what would happen if it should've turned out that I did not quite have enough in the motorcycle's fuel tank to complete the return trip, then while actually on the road had to keep fighting off barely controllable impending episodes of  microsleep. When I finally did arrive back to the residence I was disturbed to find that I could not locate my wallet anywhere inside the apartment, not even after digging through the trash in the dumpster that I'd tossed out last night, but finally uncovered it with a deeper search inside the motorcycle.

May 31, 2016 (Tuesday)
23:30, Eastern Daylight Time

Due to feeling very tired and lethargic since ''pau hana time'' Sunday, I was incapable of pulling myself together to address things that needed to be done both inside and outside of the apartment until late this morning / early this afternoon. I began by first paying my Internet bill online, then went to the convenience store on ''Alt. US-19'' to pay my electric bill with the added intention of purchasing a couple bottles of tea drinks and to fill my motorcycle's gas tank, only to discover that I'd inadvertently left my wallet at the apartment, which thereby prevented me from continuing on to ''Staples'' to place the print order on the new set of African-inspired images I'd intended to enlarge to complete my my wall art collection. I instead returned to the apartment to retrieve my wallet then continued on to pay next month's rent, where upon arrival at the property management office I took note that on their board of available rental listings that the requested rent for the remaining empty unit at our apartment complex was requiring an additional $25/month than what's contracted on my lease, for an apartment that is 100% identical to all of the other units in every way, leading me to interpret that bit of information as an indication that I should expect a similar increase reflected in my renewed lease application.

Before returning to the apartment for the remainder of the day, I stopped into the ''Walmart'' on Florida Highway 54 to see if they had in stock the style & size of inexpensive poster frames they had advertised on their website (because their trash website refused to retain my ''Make This My Store'' location preference so that I could check in-store availability of items), plus to purchase a compact sewing kit (eventually getting two of different types - one for home, the other to store in the motorcycle for just-in-case emergency back-up) and hoping to find any T-shirts, sweaters, etc., promoting ''Tampa Bay'' to send to my mother in lieu of the Ybor City snafu (even deciding to bother with Walmart at all mainly because I had absolutely no desire to venture on out to Hudson just so I could patronize ''Kmart'').

Because of the virtually incapacitating depression & lethargy of the previous several days, I'd decided to further postpone changing the oil in my motorcycle, eventually deciding that perhaps I'd do well to hold off for a while anyway, waiting until I've finally been assured & adapted to my ''permanent'' ''regular'' working schedule which is (finally) officially supposed to begin this week.
